Blogging vs Ezine marketing

I was just reading this article after I read John Stafford's ebook about email list building.

While I can see the value of blogging, (you're reading my blog), I can still see the value of emailing and list building.

They're two different forms of advertising. One is getting into somebody's email box, the other is somebody visiting your site.

I've seen some blogs that have huge readership. These blogs are usually written by some people with a certain amount of "celebrity status".

To develop blog readership, if you don't have celebrity status, you need to get out and post on as many blogs as you can to get people to know about you. Developing blog readership this way is a lot of hard work. It's fun to visit, however it's hard work like everything else.

Developing an ezine is hard work in that you've got to work 50 ways to build your lists. You've got to work the systems that build lists. That's hard work. Most paths to success are hard work.

I'm seeing that a combination of blogs & list development & ezines are a good mix. I've seen magical things happen with blogs that I could never achieve with a regular website.

The whole idea is to be communicating with your prospects on a regular basis, and giving them good , valuable information and products and services. Ultimately, that will win the day.
