I am gaining a whole new understanding for email , newsletters etc.
I simply wanted to send a note to some of my clients using the email database that I've been collecting over the last five years. I have approximately 2500 names in this list.
I am using aweber.com for this list as I like some of their tools. I noticed that the email campaign that I was trying to send out didn't go out. After inquiring with customer service as to why they weren't sending out my email, they indicated that my email list was too old and out of date.
Hmm... I have a verified optin list that is too old and out of date.
I went and purchased an email verifier software which I am now running my lists through. There are a few settings that i needed to put in such as a valid email address and an valid IP address.
According to the software manufacturer when you verify the email with the receiving email server, it wants to know that you're coming from a real email address and a real IP address.
This is a really good lesson in why it's important to keep an email list fresh. I thought I would pass it along.
